RETREATS
We are fortunate to live in San Diego, "America's Finest City", but sometimes it is nice to get away for awhile!
Winter Camp: In the month of January both our Jr. High and High School students head up to Blue Jay, California to Alpine Conference Center. This camp, which is owned and operated by the Evangelical Covenant Denomination, hosts weekend retreats for churches throughout the Southern California area. Every year we hope for snow, but camp is always a blast even without the white stuff!
Jr. High Summer Camp: For a week during the month of July our Jr. High Group heads up to Alpine Conference Center. Camp is full of fun and games, but also has some quality chapel times where God's name is praised and God's word is heard.
CHIC: Every three years the Covenant Denomination hosts a week long conference for High School students called CHIC (Covenant High In Christ). This conference takes place on a college campus and Covenant churches throughout the United States participate. At CHIC 2006, there were approximately 6, 000 students and staff in attendance. At CHIC there are main sessions with various speakers and worship led by the CHIC Band, seminars, small groups, free time with tons of activities, etc. The next CHIC will be held July 12-17, 2009 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
For more information you can check out the CHIC 2009 website: www.chic2009.org
Sequoia: During summers where there aren't mission trips or CHIC, our High School group goes to Sequoia National Park for a week of camping, hiking, swimming, whitewater rafting, and quite possibly more fun than a High School student should have!
